Playground Safety

Kidstuff Playsystems is dedicated to supplying safe playground equipment for the children in your care. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a "Handbook for Public Playground Safety" in 1991 and has updated it twice since then. The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) issued a set of recommendations for safe playground design in 1993, updated in 1995 and 1998.  Among topics addressed are
  • head entrapment - elimination of potential hazards
  • safe playground designs including differences in preschool and grade school structures
  • correct use of rungs and barriers
  • use zones and safety surfaces
  • proper maintenance and inspection procedures

Kidstuff Playsystems is committed to complying with these guidelines and urges our customers to follow them as well. As a reflection of this commitment, Kidstuff Playsystems became a charter member of IPEMA (International Play Equipment Manufacturers Association).  Richard Hagelberg, CEO of Kidstuff Playsystems, is a Certified Playground Inspector.
